Thaumatropes

Thaumatropes are one of the simplest  toys. they are made of a string a paper and create amazing illusions. Thaumatropes combine images that are two sides of a piece of paper or any round small round surface with a string tied to the end, almost like a neckless. when spun around you combine the two images to make illusion fun :)

Dominance- can add interest or confusion; something may be used more often than other elements

  Direction- oblique: movement; horizontal: clam; vertical:                                  balance/alertness

      Gradation- adds interest and/or movement

Harmony- similar object and colors that complement each other

Line- linear marks or an edge where to shapes meet

Repetition- to repeat

Shapes- contained closed defined areas

Size- how large an object is to other objects

Texture- physical/visual; surface quality










Unity- visual linking of elements

Value- also called tone; lightness or darkness of color(s)

Animation in the Work World

     In the animation world there are many different jobs that go into make videos. One such job would be of animation facial designer. This job is very important because it allows the characters to show different emotions such as fear, anger, surprised, joyful, etc, it also allows the characters to talk, this lets the words of the actor or voice being used in the video look like they are being said from the character that are doing the said talking.
     Each part of the face in each character has different mechanics that allow them to move. The eyes are different from the mouth; the mouth is different from the skin, and so on. For every fraction of a second of the movie that is being worked each part of the face must move according to the word that is being said. If the pictures are not being taken often enough the movements of the characters come out “blocky” and that can take a person out of the movie and they start paying attention to the fact that they are watching a movie that is made up of pictures that are being flash across a screen at lighting speeds to create the allusion of movements. Also keeping the pictures in the right order is very important. If the pictures are not being entered in the right order the video can get messed up causing a possible star over. If you have worked in the animation field for over a year you can make $2000-$4000. But if you work for Lacka you have to move to where the company is. To me I think that is amazing that some one has the attention spand to do this job every day. Each part of the mechanics that is involved in the creation of these characters is amazing and the detail that goes into making of the characters is something worth paying attention to.

using my computer to color a pic. is soooo much fun. who knew that i learn something in school!?!?

Nothing feels as good as walk along with you feet in the water watching a sunset. The colors in the sky fill your eyes and to me it seems like time stops. This is my favorite part of taking a vacation to the beach or the mountains or anywhere. It makes me wish that i would just stop and take the time to look and find the world around me.
